Position Summary:
The FSQA Document Control Technician is responsible for maintaining, organizing, and controlling all food safety and quality documentation. This includes managing policies, procedures, records, specifications, audit files, and compliance documents in accordance with USDA, SQF, and company requirements. The technician ensures document integrity, version control, and accessibility to support regulatory compliance and food safety systems.
Key Responsibilities:
· Maintain and manage all FSQA documentation, including SOPs, SSOPs, HACCP plans, training records, and verification logs.
· Control document versioning and ensure timely updates and approvals.
· Ensure that all FSQA documents are accurate, up to date, and compliant with regulatory and audit standards.
· Support internal and external audits by preparing and organizing necessary documents and records.
· Digitize and archive records appropriately; maintain both electronic and hard copy files.
· Collaborate with FSQA, Production, Sanitation, and Maintenance departments to ensure proper documentation practices.
· Train team members on document control procedures and document management systems (DMS).
· Assist in the generation and formatting of new documents, logs, and forms as needed.
· Ensure confidential information is handled and stored securely.
· All additional responsibilities as designated.
Qualifications:
· A high school diploma or GED is required; an associate degree or higher in food science, quality, or a related field is preferred.
· Minimum 1 year of experience in document control, QA, or FSQA role in food manufacturing preferred.
· Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SQF, and USDA regulatory standards.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with document management systems is a plus. (SafetyChain, Redzone)
· Excellent organizational and communication skills.
· Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines.
Working Conditions:
· Office and production floor environment.
· May be required to enter cold, wet, or noisy production areas.
· Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs), sitting for extended periods, and computer use.
