Job Title : Launch Director – Contract Logistics

This role is critical during a period of rapid growth for DP World Contract Logistics in US and Mexico. The Launch Director will help implement new business at a higher level of execution, delivering a sustained operation that meets the DP World standard for high-performing contract logistics operations by executing our launch blueprint for success.
DP World is seeking an experienced and strategic Launch Director – Contract Logistics to lead the startup of new fulfillment and distribution operations across our network. In this critical role, you will drive the successful implementation of new customer solutions by aligning functional workstreams, mitigating risk, and ensuring each launch delivers long-term operational excellence.
You will lead a dedicated launch team and partner closely with project management, launch engineering, solutions, IT, procurement, facilities, and health & safety to deliver new operations that consistently meet the DP World Contract Logistics standard. This is a highly collaborative leadership role requiring strong operational knowledge, team leadership, and the ability to manage complexity across stakeholders.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Serve as the overall leader for facility and operations launches, from concept through go-live, stabilization, and transition to steady-state operations
  • Direct and develop a multi-disciplinary launch team with domain leaders in Operations, Quality, Inventory Management, Training, Systems/Data, and Health & Safety
  • Partner with functional teams including Project Management, Launch Engineering, Solutions Design & Engineering, IT, Finance, Procurement, and Property/Facilities to ensure integrated and seamless execution
  • Develop comprehensive launch plans, timelines, governance structures, KPIs, and resource strategies that balance speed, cost, and customer requirements
  • Ensure operational readiness through structured assessments, validation of people, processes, systems, and infrastructure
  • Lead regular checkpoints, reporting, and executive updates on launch progress, risk, budget, and performance milestones
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability during the launch phase, providing clarity, ownership, and escalation across all workstreams
  • Develop and refine tools, documentation, and best practices to enable repeatable and scalable launches across the network
  • Drive post-launch reviews and continuous improvement of the launch program, incorporating feedback and lessons learned
  • Develop and implement a volunteer launch training and development program that identifies, trains, and deploys team members from across the network to participate in site launches. Ensure these individuals are equipped to execute the launch in alignment with the DP World Contract Logistics standard
  • Ensure that core management practices—such as board walks, line rosters, start-of-shift meetings, and visual performance tools—along with Lean methodologies including Gemba walks, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), standardized work, and process audits, are embedded into the DNA of every launch, reinforcing operational discipline and a culture of continuous improvement

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • 8+ years of progressive leadership in contract logistics, fulfillment, or supply chain operations
  • 5+ years of experience launching complex, customer-facing operations or managing high-impact cross-functional programs
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-disciplinary teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Deep operational knowledge in warehouse design, systems, labor management, and logistics process flows
  • Skilled in program management, stakeholder communication, and change leadership
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies required
  • Exceptional communication and executive reporting skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50–70% of the time, including extended stays of 1–6 weeks during launch periods
