Summary: This position is in the Belton DMLS Department. Responsible for driving and meeting quality, on-time delivery, and margin targets to facilitate the department’s growth plan. Also maintains and performs maintenance on machines as needed, reports root cause/failure analysis to the engineering department, and attends cross-functional team meetings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):
- Supervises daily operations of assigned department.
- Controls cost by optimizing productivity and process improvements.
- Optimizes quality while maintaining on-time delivery and satisfying customer requirements.
- Manages department employees with special regard to the following areas: fairness, effective use and development, motivation, enforcement of company policies, discipline, attendance, accident or injury prevention, and turnover.
- Performs preventative maintenance on machines on a regular schedule.
- Provides technical support to coworkers in the areas of equipment operation, installation, maintenance, applications, and training.
- Oversees the reliability and uptime issues on machines to ensure high level of satisfaction of prototypes and production parts made for the customers.
- Implements ISO 9001 and AS 9100 (as applicable) quality system and procedures.
- Demonstrates commitment to Stratasys Core Values by leading, acting and behaving in a manner consistent with these values.
- Follows all company safety policies and procedures and attends all safety trainings related to the job.
Essential Education, Skills and Experience:
- Four year technical degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years combined experience in manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge of CAD software applications and/or Rapid Prototyping industry experience is strongly desired
- Ability to independently organize and prioritize multiple duties required.
- Good verbal and written communications skills and the ability to resolve technical issues while maintaining a good working relationship with internal employees, and communicating with other shifts is required.
- Creativity and willingness to gain an advanced understanding of rapid prototyping applications are desired attributes.
- Must be self-motivated and be able to work effectively on projects with minimal direct supervision.
- Ability to work well with others.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Machine operators and Technicians within the department.
Physical/Environmental Requirements:
- Works in a pleasant office environment with other department staff, utilizing a computer workstation and various software applications. May spend significant portions of time on the production floor with regular exposure to dust, fumes, and and noise. Specific work schedule is coordinated with direct supervisor. Administrative tasks include utilizing a computer work station and various software applications
