Job Description
Job Title : CNC Machinist (Youngstown, OH, US)

Job Summary: 

The CNC Machinist will work in the machine shop and support operations. They will set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. They may also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. 

  

Job Duties: 

  • Proficient setup, operation, and upkeep of conversational style machines for milling and drilling. CNC lathe, I.D. and O.D. grinders, surface grinders, saws, etc 

  • Repair broken parts/tooling as necessary 

  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. 

  • Perform continuous quality control of the parts and/or tooling in production 

  • Authority to stop and/or modify work processes due to non-conformance and/or unsafe working conditions 

  • Contribute to accomplishing organizational goals by accepting ownership for developing new methods, systems and processes, exploring opportunities for job enhancement 

  

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • 5-7 years’ experience as a precision machinist with knowledge of conversational programming 

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings for effective manufacture of precision components, including experience in tolerance standards management 

  • Measuring skills using calipers, bore micrometers, and pin gauges 

  • Mechanical ability using hand tools 

  • Conceptual thinker, process improvement aptitude 

  • Ability to remain organized and pay attention to detail 

  • Must be a team player and possess a "can do" attitude 

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs 

  • Capable of safely operating lift assist equipment, minor rigging, hoist crane, etc 

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write and communicate effectively 

  

Work Environment: 

This role will work in a clean, climate-controlled machine shop within a manufacturing facility. The work environment features a team dynamic, safety focus, and emphasis on process improvement
