Job Title : Strategy, Product & Portfolio Operations Lead – Government Consumer Analytics

Position SummaryWe are looking for a Strategy, Product & Portfolio Operations Lead to join our Government Consumer Analytics team at CVS Health. This person will partner closely with the AVP of Government Consumer Analytics to drive strategic, product, operational, and fiscal initiatives across an organization that has scaled rapidly over the last three years.  This role is a high-level individual contributor role with runway to evolve into a managerial role as the business expands.

Position Responsibilities:

Strategy & Portfolio Operations (50%)

  • Design and run simple, transparent portfolio-level impact and financial linkage processes to track business impact and ROI, unified leading indicators, Monthly Operating Review, and translate to financials and scenario modeling.
  • Lead strategic design of tools to increase transparency with business leaders, including impact and initiative front-end dashboard portfolio strategy, partner with technical team doing execution, advise of UI, and drive adoption.
  • Unify strategy synthesis and lead special projects across the organization including leading bi-annual goal setting, executive-level presentations and strategic synthesis across multiple analytic teams, and identifying opportunity areas for growth.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders such as data scientists, senior management, and marketing leads to effectively build targeted presentations and ensure alignment and support for strategic initiatives.

Product Management & Innovation - Analytics (30%)

  • Strategic leader and hands-on contributor, jumpstarting emerging analytic products, including product definition and strategic positioning, economic modeling, socialization, and funding models.
  • Explore innovative partnerships and new engagement models, evaluating industry trends, synthesize perspective for what to pursue, buy vs. build, and business case development.
  • Build best practices for new product proposals and financial linkage.

Team Development and Mentoring (10%)

  • As a member of the leadership team, contribute to department operations, strategy and development-focused culture.
  • Conduct workshops and do individual coaching for top-down strategic thinking and problem framing skills, including connecting analytic insights to business value.

Financial / Budget Management (10%)

  • Expert ability using Excel to create and run impact reports by leveraging data to track key performance indicators (KPIs), comparing different scenarios, and presenting findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Use Excel to track project and employee costs/financials including detailed tracking of expenses, project budgets, and personnel costs, facilitating budget variances, trend analysis, and financial insights. 
  • Build impact reports with PowerPoint, highlighting key data, analysis, and recommendations.
  • Participate in budget development, implementation, and monitoring, ensuring alignment with financial policies, effective resource allocation and analyzing performance metrics while identifying cost-saving opportunities. 

Required Skills:

  • Critical reasoning – your primary responsibilities require you to operate at the intersection of strategy, operations, and finance within a analytic insights, engagement, and product team. The team will lean on you to get your first principles take across opportunity areas.
  • Proactivity – there is no set “playbook” for this job. An ideal profile for this is someone who takes the initiative to address priorities within the organization, likes the autonomy to act on those priorities, and builds the “playbook”.
  • Portfolio management – you will have exposure across multiple different priorities and will be responsible for keeping the team’s portfolio of activities organized and on track.
  • Detail orientation  – we are a complex and data-backed organization. The details matter to us and our partners.
  • Effective communication – the role requires succinct and thoughtful written and verbal communication across the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years' experience at a top-tier management consulting firm or as a Chief of Staff for an early/mid stage start-up

  • 2+ years' experience with PowerPoint, Excel, and other productivity software

  • 2+ years' experience building executive level deliverables (e.g., story-lining a presentation)

  • 2+ years experience with financial / fiscal management including budgeting & ROI calculations

  • 2+ years' experience working thru ambiguity, influencing and driving buy-in for strategic direction with leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year experience mentoring a team and driving project deliverables
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple priorities

  • Passion for intersection between healthcare, technology, and analytics

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required, with a preference in a quantitative field or business administration
  • MBA is highly desirable

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$142,140.00 - $284,280.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
